Daniel Binyon is a Senior Investigator with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, bringing over 27 years of distinguished law enforcement experience spanning homicide, gang crime, and officer-involved shooting investigations. Throughout his career, Daniel has played a key role in some of Riverside County’s most complex and high-profile criminal cases, including over 40 homicide investigations and seven death penalty cases. His expertise extends beyond field investigations—he serves as the county’s CAL-WRAP Coordinator, overseeing the relocation of at-risk witnesses, and has trained numerous investigators in the protocols of protective operations.
Daniel’s law enforcement journey began with the Buena Park Police Department, where he rose through the ranks from patrol officer to detective, gaining extensive experience in gang suppression, homicide investigations, and tactical coordination. His ability to manage both investigative detail and big-picture strategy has made him a trusted figure in the Bureau of Investigation, where he also serves on the Strategic Planning Group and the Officer-Involved Shooting Response Team.
With a deep commitment to mentorship and inter-agency collaboration, Daniel is recognized for his leadership, professionalism, and dedication to justice. His accolades include multiple commendations and “Investigator of the Year” honors. Beyond his service, Daniel gives back to the community as a long-time youth football coach, mentoring the next generation both on and off duty.
