Richard Pickowitz recently retired after an extraordinary 29-year career in law enforcement, marked by his extensive experience and dedication to complex criminal investigations. Over the course of his career, Richard spent 21 years as an Investigator, where he was responsible for conducting detailed and high-stakes criminal investigations. His journey began with the Indio and Cathedral City Police Departments, where he developed his foundational skills in various investigative and patrol roles.

 

In 2006, Richard joined the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, where he devoted over 15 years of his career. During his tenure there, he made significant contributions to the field of criminal investigations, leveraging his expertise to handle a wide range of challenging cases. His role included working closely with other law enforcement agencies and contributing to multi-faceted investigations that required a deep understanding of criminal behavior and investigative techniques.

 

Richard’s career also featured notable assignments that showcased his versatility and commitment. He was assigned to a multi-agency SWAT team as a police officer, where he participated in high-risk operations and coordinated with various law enforcement agencies to manage complex tactical situations. This role required him to respond to critical incidents that demanded precise coordination and rapid decision-making skills.

 

Additionally, Richard spent six years as a key member of the Riverside County District Attorney’s Dignitary Protection Team. In this capacity, he was entrusted with the direct protection of District Attorney Michael Hestrin during public functions and events. His responsibilities extended to providing security for attorneys and witnesses, particularly when credible threats were received. This role involved assessing and mitigating potential risks to ensure the safety of all individuals involved.

 

Richard was also regularly assigned to conduct threat assessment investigations for threats directed at District Attorneys and support staff throughout the county. His work in this area involved evaluating and addressing threats to ensure the security and safety of high-profile legal professionals. His ability to manage these sensitive and critical assignments demonstrated his expertise and dedication to protecting both individuals and the integrity of the justice system.

Doug Stice

Doug brings 27 years of investigative expertise from the Los Angeles Police Department, retiring from the Major Crimes Division with a broad experience in handling high-profile cases such as homicides, cyber crimes, and more. His career highlights include specialized skills in infrastructure security and event threat analysis for major events like the Oscars and Grammy Awards. Doug now leads Virtual Cyber Cop, focusing on cyber crime solutions.

Dennis Vrooman

Dennis Vrooman, former Undersheriff of Riverside County, oversaw 4,000 personnel in the state’s second largest Sheriff’s Office, where he played a pivotal role in managing complex law enforcement operations. His leadership followed a distinguished career with both the Downey and Murrieta Police Departments, where he gained extensive experience in community policing, operational oversight, and public safety initiatives.

Chuck Cervello

Chuck's 32-year law enforcement career spans supervisory roles in major criminal investigations and tactical operations. With a foundation at the Indio Police Department and significant tenure at the Riverside County DA's Office, he's led landmark organized crime investigations and directed security for major events like Coachella.
