Ryan has nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience. He spent over 13 years as a Riverside Sheriff’s Investigator, ascending to the rank of Master Investigator IV. Ryan worked assignments in persons/property crimes and major narcotics with DEA. His last seven years with RSO was as a member of the Central Homicide Unit. Ryan led well over 250 criminal investigations ranging from complex death investigations to sensitive internal criminal investigations. Additionally, he personally oversaw the processing of over 150 crime scenes. Ryan then joined the District Attorney’s Office, and as a Supervising Investigator, lead the Bureau’s Cold-Case Homicide Team.
Ryan continues to serve (33 years) in the US Army as a Command Sergeant Major. He holds an MPA and an MA.

His extensive experience encompasses strategic planning, operational leadership, and high-level coordination, making him adept at managing complex military operations and critical missions. Ryan’s service reflects a deep commitment to leadership, discipline, and service excellence, qualities that complement his investigative work and have contributed to his ability to lead high-stakes cases in his law enforcement career.
Ryan holds both a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Master of Arts (MA), which have further honed his skills in leadership, organizational strategy, and critical analysis. His advanced education equips him with a deep understanding of public policy, administrative management, and communication, enhancing his effectiveness as both a law enforcement professional and military leader. These academic achievements reflect his commitment to continuous learning and the integration of strategic thinking into his investigative and leadership roles.
